Sam Simmons
Is such a kook!

Where were you on the 23rd of March last year? Huh. According to AAP news limited,
‘A mother accused of praying instead of seeking medical help for her dying 11-year-old daughter was found guilty on Friday of reckless homicide’.
Apparently the ladies daughter, ‘died from untreated diabetes on March 23, 2008, surrounded by people praying for her. When she stopped breathing, her parents business and Bible study partners finally called the emergency dispatcher’.
Are you kidding me? How retarded must some people be, i have been brought up in a non religious household, events like this make me wary of christianity and its believers. Trust in faith until death seems a little extreme to me, call me an atheist, but taking religion this far is insanity beyond reason. What did she think was going to happen? Jesus would perform a miracle on her daughter? right.
So i’ve decided upon casting gaze unto samschwangs beauty of a bike that i too, also desire to have a smooth running machine once again.
Sorry duffy and joel, but danscomp has once again prevailed as the cheapest option. Hopefully i will be getting a sputnic ‘vow’ johnny devlin signature. Along with an array of new parts, including new brakes! wooo
Off the subject, anyone who enjoyed Silversun Pickups new album ‘swoon’ should definitely listen to ‘Great Northern‘. One of their songs has featured on a recent mike mastroni edit, which was amazing.
Off the subject again, my disgust for low frames has me in a pickle now, as it seems a member of our crew has been infected by the malicious trend. Dear god!
This week: Aleks and the Ramps
This Melbournian experimental/indie act has come along way since the humble beginnings of the bands lead vocalist/banjo extraodinaire Aleks Bryant. Upon recording a debut EP in 2005 Aleks (sic)unearthed a band for the sole purpose of having a launch for the EP. Janita Foley, Simon Connelly, Joe Foley and Jon Tjhia then became the Ramps!
The new single ‘Antique Limbs’ is a quirky number which resembles a sort of mix between Arcade Fire and Born Ruffians (Go Canada). This song will feature on the up and coming release of the album ‘Midnight Believer’ which will be released on the 30th May…
Dom Alessio of Home and Hosed states Aleks and the Ramps are, ‘Calypso pop combined with shimmering psychedlia, as if Broken Social Scene, Vampire Weekend and MGMT staged a massive jam in the wilderness’.
Definitely an interesting act to watch out for in the future!
The band will be touring the east coast in celebration of the album, get out and see them:
Thursday April 30
The Hopetoun Hotel, Sydney, NSW
Friday May 1
Ric’s, Brisbane, QLD
Saturday May 9
Anytime Place, Melbourne, VIC

It seems more and more of my news/posts relate to the one, the only, Adrian Duffy.
I would like to devote this post to my main man. Quite simply, Duffy is the best, nay, the most extravagant and intelligent human being on this planet, maybe the universe.
One day aliens will descend within our midst and call upon a leader to govern their colony to great success. For this, they will call upon one man…. Adrian Duffy aka fluff mc buffelduff.
As i write, i can picture Sir duff reading this, thinking to himself..
and i quote, ‘You dont know much do you’
For more information on the man, the myth, the legend; proceed to here
Each week i will be blogging about a band that has attracted my attention in some way or form. They are my prediction for future success if you will.
This week: The Cairo’s
Consisting of 4 teenagers, this Brisbane Indie/Ambient/Postpunk outfit have been making waves through the local indie scene. Citing such influences as The Smiths, The Church, Echo & The Bunnymen, Radiohead, The Cure and Joy Division, you can start to form a sound in your mind! Their song, ‘Whales’ with its chorussed bassline and Alistair Richardson’s polished vocals, has received decent radio time and alot of critic attention. To capitalize on their rise, the band have picked 5 songs to form their debut EP, ‘Lost at Sea’. The recent high school graduates have toured with the likes of The Temper Trap, Wolf and Cub, Mercy Arms, Yves Klein Blue, The Holidays and John Steel Singers to name a few. If anyone is interested in ‘The Cairos’ they are playing at the Woombye pub on the 4th July, I highly suggest going along for a look.
‘Lost at Sea’ debuts at The Zoo in Brisbane on the 16th May.
A study cited in Miller (2009) has found that, ‘about 66% of American adults are overweight and 33% are obese, the highest overnutrition rate in any developed country. The more than 50 billion dollars that Americans spend each year trying to lose weight is more than two times the 24 billion dollars per year that the United Nations estimates is needed to eliminate undernutrition and malnutrition in the world’.
Ridiculous isn’t it!
So this edit is utter madness, right!
I cant decide who is crazier out of Reynolds, Main or Enarson. I have alot of respect for Garrett Reynolds as he is ridiculously ballsy on street, Enarson is definitely right there with him.
Harry main rides a crappy KHE frame, rides little street and has tattoos which make him look like hes trying to be badass, doesnt suit his english ‘heritage’
Anywho, my opinion is insignificant.

What did i say about Arizona edits! Shane kills it, how dialed can one person be on nose manuals. We’ll excuse him for being a park rat in this edit.
